Victor S. Brown — Independent IT & Cloud Consultant
I’m Victor S. Brown. I’ve spent 25 years working in IT infrastructure, I hold Microsoft, Azure and VMware certifications, and I’ve been involved in crypto for the last 10 years. I work as an independent consultant, and I write everything published on Crypto, IT & Cloud.
Why this site exists
Most crypto coverage is written by people who have never run infrastructure, and most enterprise IT coverage treats blockchain as somebody else’s problem. I started this site because the interesting questions sit where the two overlap — what decentralised compute actually means for cloud economics, how custody failures happen at a technical level, and which of these technologies hold up once you have to deploy and support them in production.
Twenty-five years of building and maintaining infrastructure changes how you read a crypto exploit. A wallet firmware bug isn’t a headline; it’s a patch management failure with a specific root cause. A decentralised GPU network isn’t a revolution; it’s a capacity play with real economics you can compare against what the hyperscalers charge. That’s the perspective I’m writing from.
I write for people who work in IT and want the technical substance rather than price speculation.
Background
I’ve worked in IT infrastructure since 2001, across virtualisation, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems. My certifications are with Microsoft, Azure and VMware, and most of my consulting work sits in cloud migration, virtualisation and infrastructure design.
I’ve followed crypto closely for a decade — long enough to have watched several cycles of the same technical mistakes get made, rebranded, and made again. That overlap between infrastructure engineering and crypto is what this site is about.
What I write about
- Cloud and infrastructure — virtualisation, licensing changes, platform migrations, and the operational reality behind vendor announcements
- Crypto security — exploits, custody, and wallet architecture, examined as engineering failures rather than news events
- Where the two meet — decentralised compute, blockchain infrastructure, and the AI capacity crunch reshaping both
